Mission
The Green Schools Committee will encourage sustainable principles that:
- Enhance student and faculty performance
- Optimize building performance to reduce operational costs
Aim:

Goals:
- Encourage local and/or state adoption of requirement to use LEED for Schools on all new and renovated schools built within the state
- Facilitate evaluation of existing schools for operation and energy improvements
- Provide education for Teachers, Staff and Administration, and members of local Boards of Education of school districts to the benefits of sustainable building and operation strategies
- Collect and make tools available to teachers for incorporating green principles into teaching curriculum
- Develop the political will and practical tools to fund the goals of the green schools initiative
